Abstract:
Analytical chemistry is a fundamental branch of chemistry that focuses on the identification, separation, and quantification of chemical substances. It plays a crucial role in scientific research, pharmaceutical industries, environmental monitoring, food safety, forensic science, clinical diagnostics, agriculture, and industrial quality control. Rapid technological advancements have transformed analytical chemistry through the development of sophisticated analytical instruments, automation, artificial intelligence, miniaturized devices, and nanotechnology-based sensors. Modern analytical techniques provide high sensitivity, precision, accuracy, and rapid analysis while minimizing sample preparation and chemical waste. Recent innovations such as chromatography, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, electrochemical sensors, biosensors, microfluidics, and portable analytical devices have significantly expanded the scope of analytical chemistry. These technologies contribute to pollution monitoring, disease diagnosis, drug development, food quality assurance, and environmental sustainability. Despite these remarkable achievements, challenges related to high instrumentation costs, technical complexity, data interpretation, and method standardization remain. This review paper summarizes the recent advances in analytical chemistry, major analytical techniques, industrial applications, current challenges, and future prospects. The review concludes that analytical chemistry will continue to play a vital role in scientific innovation, industrial development, environmental protection, and public health through continuous technological advancement.
