Abstract:
Nanotechnology has emerged as one of the most rapidly advancing fields in modern chemistry, offering innovative solutions to challenges in medicine, environmental protection, energy, agriculture, and industrial manufacturing. Nanomaterials possess unique physical, chemical, and biological properties due to their extremely small size (1–100 nm), high surface area, and enhanced reactivity. These characteristics make nanoparticles highly useful in catalysis, drug delivery, water purification, biosensors, energy storage, and sustainable chemical processes. The integration of nanotechnology with chemistry has led to the development of advanced materials with improved efficiency, selectivity, and environmental compatibility. This review paper examines the recent advances in nanotechnology in chemistry by analyzing published research on nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, industrial applications, environmental impacts, and future prospects. The review highlights the importance of green synthesis methods, nanocatalysts, carbon-based nanomaterials, and smart nanomaterials in promoting sustainable chemical development. Although nanotechnology offers numerous advantages, challenges related to toxicity, environmental safety, production cost, and large-scale commercialization remain. The paper concludes that continued interdisciplinary research and responsible implementation of nanotechnology will significantly contribute to scientific innovation and sustainable industrial development.
