Abstract:
Virtual Reality (VR) has emerged as a transformative technology in sports training and rehabilitation, providing immersive environments for skill enhancement, cognitive training, and injury recovery. This study explores the role of VR in improving athletic performance and rehabilitation outcomes through a mixed-methods research approach. Compared with traditional methods, 100 athletes, 50 physical therapists, and 50 rehabilitation specialists participated in controlled VR-based training and rehabilitation sessions. The results indicate that VR-based training led to a 15% increase in reaction time, a 12% improvement in coordination, and enhanced tactical awareness. Additionally, VR-assisted rehabilitation showed a 20% faster recovery rate and a 25% increase in motivation among injured athletes. Statistical analysis demonstrated a strong positive correlation (r = 0.78, p < 0.01) between VR exposure and improved motor skills, cognitive processing, and psychological resilience. However, challenges such as motion sickness, cost, and accessibility were reported by approximately 10% of participants. The study concludes that VR is a valuable tool for sports training and rehabilitation, though further research is needed to optimize affordability and effectiveness for broader implementation.
