Abstract:
Bharati Mukherjee Jasmine published in 1990 presents various aspects of womanhood wherein the protagonist not only rebels against the age old superstitions but also maintains an exact balance between tradition and modernity. In the New World she reincarnates herself as Kali, the Goddess of Strength and finally she can reposition the stars.
