The Impact of Suspension Training on Body Composition in College Going Females

Abstract:
Background: Purpose of this study is to determine the effect of suspension training on Waist Circumference & Hip Circumference of college going females. Methods: Thirty girls from the I.G.I.P.E.S.S. (Delhi University) Vikaspuri, New Delhi were selected as the participants of the study. These participants were progressively introduced to the TRX Suspension Training Program for twelve weeks. This group was tested before, in-between and after completion of twelve weeks of TRX suspension training. The results of pre-test, intermediate test and post-test were statistically analysed by using repeater measure ANOVA. Result: The finding of the study shows that twelve-week TRX Suspension Training program significantly reduced waist and hip measurements in college-aged women. Participants also improved their strength and overall fitness. This training is convenient for busy students and could be further studied for its long-term effects and potential benefits when combined with other exercise types.
